Mark 7:31-37 reminds us that Jesus doesn’t always answer our prayers the way we want him to or expect. If he needs to get our attention and cooperation, he might do something weird!

Video Excerpt:

God doesn’t do things the way you and I want. He does things his way, and very often his way seems very weird to us. Sometimes it even seems disgusting or unpleasant. Or ot doesn’t make sense: “That can’t be God.” So we need to be open to the weirdnesses of God. We need to be open to him doing things differently than the way we want him to or expect him to, or the way it happened to somebody else.

Oftentimes we get disappointed in God because we see how he heals somebody else and then we ask for healing and it doesn’t happen….

Look for God at work in everything, even the things that don’t seem to be of God, or make sense. Because even when evil happens to us, God is still with us. God is still doing something and he’s going to make good come out of it.

Yes. I think of Christina the Astonishing, a Saint from a very long time ago. Wow, that was super weird, but awesome. And all.the grazer Saints, who lived as hermits and ate plants from the ground, some of them lived in trees, they were like John the Baptist. They were intense and extreme and weird and cool.and awesome.
