The Divine Mercy chaplet is something that I have found very valuable in praying for others.
What did St. Faustina say about that?
Bill Snyder
So, Terry, the Diary of St. Faustina, which is where the Divine Mercy chaplet is found, the instructions to pray the Divine Mercy chaplet are found, you can, although it’s blurred out here on the screen, but you can get it.
It’s called Divine Mercy in My Soul, the Diary of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, and in paragraph 687 of the diary, it says this.
It says, “…say unceasingly the chaplet that I have taught you. Whoever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour of death. Priests will recommend it to sinners as their last hope of salvation. Even if a sinner were most hardened, if he were to recite this chaplet only once, he would receive grace from My infinite mercy. I desire that the whole world know My infinite mercy. I desire to grant unimaginable graces to these souls who trust in My mercy.”

That’s significant. When I began praying this for my dad, it made a difference. I’m going to explain in a minute the difference that it made that I experienced after his death, but first of all, some background. My father, he was Protestant, and to him, I noticed all my life, to him, the faith was an intellectual exercise. I never saw him pray. I never saw him turn to the Lord for help. I never saw, and he even believed in abortion and other moral issues. He was very much on the liberal side of things and proud of it. I was very concerned about the state of his soul when he was dying. He wasn’t actively dying yet, but you could tell he was getting to the end of his journey. He was in a nursing home and bound to a wheelchair. I began praying the divine mercy chaplet for his soul. I had friends praying it for him too.
One day, after daily mass, a friend came up to me and started chatting with me and asked if there was anything special she could pray for or do for my father. I said, hey, why don’t you visit him and pray the divine mercy chaplet with him?
